Real Madrid vs Huesca – La Liga Match Preview, Kick-Off Time & Match Prediction

Match Day 8 encounter, with Real Madrid taking on Huesca on Saturday the 31st of October, 2020, at Estadio Alfredo Di Stéfano.

Real Madrid triumphed at Camp Nou last weekend beating Barcelona 1-3, exactly what they needed after losing 0-1 to Cádiz in La Liga, and 2-3 to Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League. Midweek, they were losing 2-0 to Gladbach in Germany since the 58th minute, but Karim Benzema shortened the gap in the 87th minute, and Casemiro equalized in added time, a goal of pure gold for Real Madrid, their first one in their group. Their current form reads; DWLLW. In La Liga, they are on 13 points from six matches, having 4W, 1D and 1L. Goals, nine scored, four conceded. Coach Zinedine Zidane saved his job with Real Madrid’s last two results, but the team are definitely not out of the woods yet; it’s not just that they have just one point from their first two Champions League group games, but much more the fact that the dressing room seems to be… a mess; Benzema was “caught” by a TV camera telling a teammate not to pass the ball to Vinicius Junior(!), while Isco, who seems sick and tired of not being a starter, made some nasty public statements against Zidane. Someone can only wonder what would be happening at Real Madrid these days if they hadn’t beaten Barcelona last weekend...

Huesca visited Real Sociedad last weekend having drawn in four consecutive matches, and in five of their six in La Liga. They went 1-0 down in the first half from the penalty spot, equalized seconds into the second part, but it was obvious that Real Sociedad were in no mood to drop points at home. The San Sebastián side played some awesome football in most of the second half, scored three(!) more goals, and won 4-1. Huesca’s current form reads; LDDDD. They are on five points from seven La Liga matches, having 5D and 2L, no win yet. Goals, five scored, 10 conceded. The fact that they have lost only two of their seven matches thus far, but still are below the relegation line, is a… reminder that not losing is not enough, two wins are more valuable than five draws… Coach Míchel played a 4-4-2 formation against Real Sociedad, with scorer Rafa Mir and Sandro Ramírez up front. It’s worth mentioning that Huesca had an almost 100% Spanish starting lineup, with just one exception, Greek defender Dimitris Siovas.

Real Madrid and Huesca last met two seasons ago; back then, the Merengues won twice, 3-2 in Madrid and 0-1 as guests.

One way or another, easily or by… half a goal, Real Madrid should win this one.

A 2-0 victory for the hosts is predicted at full-time.
