Bayern Munich vs RB Leipzig – Bundesliga Match Preview, Kick-Off Time & Match Prediction.

The German Bundesliga continues this weekend after UEFA Champions League Matchday 5. On Saturday the 5th of December 2020, Bayern Munich vs. RB Leipzig kicks-off at 18:30 (GMT+1) on Matchday 10 at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern Munich will be coming into this game after the 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid in Tuesday's UEFA Champions League fixture. But their last Bundesliga match ended in a 3-1 victory against VfB Stuttgart. An opening goal from Stuttgart's Tanguy Coulibaly (20') saw Bayern Munich fall behind for a few minutes before Kingsley Coman (38') found the back of the net eighteen minutes later. Later on, a fantastic out-of-the-box shot by Robert Lewandowski (45') found its way into the net at the stroke of half-time. Stuttgart's push for an equalizer in the dying minutes of the game left them exposed at the back – allowing Douglas Costa time and space to cut in from the right and take a fantastic left-footed shot which ended up at the back of Stuttgart's net leaving the goal keeper rooted to the spot. Bayern remain unbeaten in their last six games across all competitions: WWDWWD.

The Bavarians have 22 points and a goal difference of +18 as they sit at the top of the table – two points above RB Leipzig after 7W, 1D & 1L. Hans-Dieter Flick is tipped to line up with a 4—2 –3—1 formation with Lewandowski at the peak of the attack. Gnabry, Mueller and Coman will be the trio behind him when Bayern take on Leipzig on Matchday 10.  Hansi rested most of Bayern's first choice players against ATL. Madrid but we should see the familiar faces once again on Saturday. Joshua Kimmich remains sidelined until early January 2021 while Alphonso Davies continues to struggle with a torn ankle ligament.

Away team, RB Leipzig will be coming into this fixture behind a seven-goal thriller which saw them defeat Istanbul Basaksehir, 4-3 in their UEFA Champions League tie which took place on Wednesday. It was 3-3 in the dying minutes of the game until an extra-time goal by Alexander Soerloth (90'+ET) separated both sides. Their current form reads: WWDLWW. Leipzig are 2nd with 20 points and have a GD of +12 after 6W, 2D & 1L. Julian Nagelsmann will likely play a 4—3—3 formation on Saturday with Poulsen, 22 years old Dani Olmo and Nkunku leading the attack. Center back, Lukas Klostermann remains side-lined after undergoing a knee surgery while Konrad Laimer suffers from an ankle fracture. Hee-Chan Hwang tested positive for coronavirus and won't be part of the squad.

The last time both sides met was in February and it ended in a goal less draw. In September 2019, they played a 1-1 draw. On the 25th of May 2019, Bayern Munich defeated RB Leipzig, 3-0.
