Milan vs Udinese

After Milan’s 2-0 win against Cagliari last weekend, the Rossoneri will return for their 20th Serie A appearance against Udinese on Sunday the 19th of January, 2020. It was Milan’s second victory in their last five games; WDLDW in Serie A and the third in all competitions.

Although Milan’s statistics didn’t improve so much, it still remains 0.9 goals per game out of 14.8 shots taken per game. Milan managed two clean sheets in their last three games in all competitions and are now 9th place with 25 points in Serie A. Piatek was given the time to redeem himself after being in ‘Ghost Mode' all season in Milan’s last game. He played for the whole length of the game against SPAL in Milan’s Coppa Italia fixture on Wednesday and put in a great performance, scoring a goal and assisting another.

But that impressive performance might not grant him an automatic start ahead of Zlatan who scored his first goal for Milan against Cagliari. The big swede looks set to start again along with Rafael Leao in Milan’s 4-4-2 formation. Bennacer and Kessie will be in the heart of the midfield and will be flanked by Bonaventura or Hakan on the left while Castillejo supports from the right.

Udinese lost their last match (Coppa Italia match against Juventus) 4-0 but their last Serie A game was an impressive 3-0 win against Sassuolo. Stefano Okaka (14’), Ken Sema (68’) and Rodrigo De Paul (90’) got their names on the score sheet before full-time. Luca Gotti will probably file out with a 3-5-2 formation. Udinese’s joint top scorer, Stefano Okaka (4 goals, along Rodrigo De Paul) and Kevin Lasagna will be leading the attack. That game against Sassuolo was Udinese’s third win in their last five games in Serie A, WWWLD. Udinese sit 12th place with 24 points and will be looking to take another W against AC Milan.

Udinese won by a goal the last time they faced Milan. Rodrigo Becao scored the only goal 72 minutes into the game. AC Milan had more of the possession, 60%, but couldn’t even register a shot on target despite taking 14 shots. Udinese on the other hand took 17 shots and had 6 on target.

It’s yet to be seen if Milan will have players such as Hakan Calhanoglu who is out with calf problems and Gianluigi Donnarumma who was unavailable for Milan’s last match. Samir remains unavailable for Udinese till late February.

A 2-1 win for AC Milan is predicted at the end of this fixture.
