Real Valladolid vs Levante – La Liga Match Preview, Kick-Off Time & Match Prediction

Match Day 33 continues with Real Valladolid taking on Levante on Wednesday the 1st of July, 2020, at Estadio Municipal José Zorrilla.

If someone had “offered” Real Valladolid before kick-off a 1-1 draw at Sevilla last Friday, most probably they would have happily taken it. They did draw 1-1, but the way it happened, leading since the 25th minute and getting equalized late from the penalty spot, left them with a bittersweet taste. If the bottom three teams were doing much better, winning games, then Real Valladolid could be in trouble for not winning any of their last four matches, but the way Mallorca, Leganés and Espanyol are doing, the José Zorilla side must be feeling… relaxed, seeing that their stay in La Liga is not under real threat. Their current form reads; DDLDW. On 35 points from 32 games, Real Valladolid are 14th on the table. They have 7W, 14D and 11L, having scored only 27 goals and conceded 37, which leaves them with a -10GD. Only the bottom two teams of the table, Leganés and Espanyol, have scored less than them this season. Coach Sergio González played a 4-4-2 formation in Seville. Kiko Olivas scored their goal, his second in 30 appearances this season.

Levante hosted Real Betis on Sunday, looking like… Real Madrid in the first 60 minutes. They took a 4-0(!) lead, they did allow Betis two goals towards the end of the match, but overall, it was an impressive showing by Levante, combined with their second win in their last three games. Their current form reads; WLWDD. On 41 points from 32 matches, they are 12th on the table. Levante have 12W, 5D and 15L, having scored 41 goals and conceded 46, which leaves them with a -5GD. Coach Paco López played a 4-4-2 formation against Betis, with Borja Mayoral and Morales up front. Both scored, and so did Bardhi and Rochina. Levante’s leading scorer, Roger Martí, came off the bench in the 64th minute, right about when his team… slowed down on the pitch.

The reverse fixture, which took place in August 2019, was a 2-0 Levante victory, with both goals coming in the last 10 minutes of the match. Last season, another 2-0 home victory for Levante, while the game in Valladolid ended in a 2-1 win for local Real.

Levante are in better form than Real Valladolid, but the hosts have drawn in three of their last four games, proving even against stronger teams like Sevilla that they are a tough nut to break.

A 1-1 draw is predicted at full-time.

Date: Tuesday, 1st of July, 2020.

Venue: Estadio Municipal José Zorrilla
