Perth Glory vs Ulsan Hyundai – AFC Champions League Match Preview, Kick-Off Time & Match Prediction

Group F Match Day 4 encounter, with Perth Glory taking on Ulsan Hyundai on Tuesday the 24th of November, 2020, at Education City Stadium, in Qatar.

Perth Glory lost 1-2 to Shanghai Shenhua last Wednesday, in the first game they played in Qatar. Several youngsters were included in the starting lineup, as the Australian side flew to Qatar without several key men. They are without a point from their first two matches in the group, knowing that their chances of finishing in the top two are very few, if existent at all. Mathematically they can still do it, but… realistically, they will need back-to-back football miracles to leave TWO teams below them. Their current form reads; LLWLL. Coach Richard Garcia’s assistant, Cristian Ola (Garcia doesn’t have the proper licence to be leading the team in AFC competition matches, even though obviously he is the one calling all the shots), told reporters the day before this game that despite losing to Shenhua last week, his team’s youngsters are full of enthusiasm, realizing that this is a golden opportunity for them to show things. Centre-back Jonathan Aspropotamitis (or just “Aspro” as the Aussie journalists call him, finding his long Greek last name too complicated to pronounce) scored their goal against Shenhua, in the 81st minute, not enough to salvage a point for them.

Ulsan Hyundai flew to Qatar having… suffered back-to-back disappointments in Korea’s domestic competitions earlier this month, they first lost the championship title to Jeonbuk Motors and then the FA Cup trophy to the same team, but against Shanghai Shenhua on Saturday they bounced back, winning easily, 3-1, leading 3-0 when the CSL side scored their consolation goal in the dying minutes of the match. Their current form reads; WLDWL. Four points for them from two matches in this group. Coach Kim Do-hoon played a 4-3-3 against Shanghai Shenhua. Yoon Bit-Garam scored the first two goals, and Kim Ki-Hee added the cherry on top in the 63rd minute. Ulsan’s coach praised his players after that win, especially Australian Jason Davidson, who, as Kim admitted, has offered… useful insight regarding Perth Glory, as he used to play there.

Perth Glory and Ulsan Hyundai have never played against each other before.

Any other result but a comfortable Ulsan win would be a really big surprise.

A 0-3 victory for Ulsan is predicted at full-time.
