Eibar vs Cadiz – La Liga Match Preview, Kick-Off Time & Match Prediction

Match Day 8 encounter, with Eibar taking on Cadiz on Friday the 30th of October, 2020, at Estadio Municipal de Ipurúa.

Eibar visited Sevilla last weekend, took the lead in the 41st minute with what was their first real visit to Sevilla’s box, and went on to protect that lead, being somewhat lucky in the second half, especially in the dying minutes of the match, when Sevilla went close to equalizing. Their current form reads; WDWLL. They are on eight points from seven matches in La Liga, having earned seven of those eight form their last three games(!). They have 2W, 2D and 3L. Goals, just five scored, and six conceded. Coach José Luis Mendilibar was full of praise for his players after that away win over Sevilla, a massive one for a team like Eibar. He chose a 4-4-2 formation, with Kike and Takashi Inui up front. It was Kike who scored Eibar’s goal in the 41st minute, his third already this season in La Liga, from six appearances.

Cádiz hosted Villarreal last weekend, a week after beating Real Madrid away from home(!). It was a match of few interesting moments inside the two boxes, and, inevitably, no goal. Cádiz’s current form reads; DWDWL. They are on 11 points from seven matches in La Liga, having 3W, 2D and 2L. They have scored just six goals thus far, but on the other hand, have looked solid defensively, conceding also only six. Coach Álvaro Cervera played a 4-4-2 formation against Villarreal, with Álvaro Negredo and Choco Lozano up front. Cádiz created hardly any real scoring chances, Villarreal had a couple, but at the end of the day, that 0-0 felt rather fair. Cervera told reporters he was more than satisfied with “four points from two games against Real Madrid and Villarreal”, looking at the… bigger picture, focusing not so much on the boring draw with Villarreal, but rather on the total of the points earned from back-to-back games against some of the best teams in the country.

Eibar and Cádiz last met in the 2007-08 season, in the second division; back then, Eibar won twice, 1-0 at home and 1-2 as guests.

Eibar looked very good in their last three games, and exactly the same can be written about Cádiz in their last four. Very interesting match, in which any of the two can end up with all three points.

A 1-1 draw is predicted at full-time.
