Castleford resume their season following a quite good start to their year, pre-Covid shutdown, with a 4-2 record, and get a chance to defeat Catalans who were fairly poor last weekend against St Helens.  Indeed, the Tigers last match was a win against the Saints winning 28-14, though the Dragons may just have needed a game to get going as they also had plenty of fine results earlier in the year.  It is too early for panic stations for the Dragons who felt the wrath of the Saints last weekend, who welcomed home James Graham in emphatic style, as they can get their season back on track with a victory in this clash, behind closed gates at Headingly.  Dry, breezy conditions await, in what should be ideal game-time temperatures with everything to play for and a celebration of Rugby League in Leeds over the weekend.

Backrower Alex Foster looks in line to return from a serious knee injury, which has kept him out since May 2019 for Castleford, after enjoying a good run in the side prior, it is a nice opportunity for him to re-establish himself at this level.  In a mostly English squad, there is a couple of former NRL players to watch including Junior Moors who played 70 games across 3 franchises and former Knights/Dragons outside Back Peter Matu’utia.  Former Gold Coast star Mead is still a week or two away for the Dragons while Tomkins also has 1 week to serve on a ban, leaving Catalans with few options at the back, leaving McNamara to decide to give Mourgue a chance despite only having 2 games for them.

It could well be Bousquet’s 200th career appearance, having 186 for the Dragons and 13 for the French side, and he will look to lead his side to another victory over the Tigers, whom they beat back in round 2, 36-18 in February.  Overall it is a very tight matchup, with the Dragons leading 16-15 and 1 draw, with other stars such as McShane in his 250th celebrating a milestone and Olpherts looking to add to his tryscoring tally as the leader in the category.  Castleford are $1.36 favourites while Catalans are $3.20 after last weeks poor showing against the Saints, with a predicted margin of 8.5-points.  Expect the Tigers to come out firing after their long break, but the Dragons may be fitter for their run last weekend and surprise, in this hard to predict match, due to the months long layoff.

PREDICITON: Catalans to bounce back with a win, in a tight affair, by less than 6.

BETTING TIP: The 1-12 market for a Dragons win is $4.33 if you believe.
