Brighton vs Burnley – Premier League Match Preview, Kick-Off Time & Match Prediction

Match Day 8 encounter, with Brighton taking on Burnley on Friday the 6th of November, 2020, at The American Express Community Stadium.

Brighton had back-to-back 1-1 draws with Crystal Palace (away) and West Brom (at home) before visiting Tottenham last weekend, and up until the 73rd minute it looked like they could be drawing 1-1 for a third successive time. That’s when Gareth Bale, having come off the bench, scored the winner for Tottenham (2-1). Brighton’s current form reads; LDDLL. They are on just five points from seven matches, having 1W, 2D and 4L. Goals, 11 scored, 14 conceded. Coach Graham Potter is expected to have Sanchez, Webster, Veltman, Burn, Lamptey, Bissouma, White, Bernardo, Lallana, Trossard and Maupay (3-4-2-1) in the starting lineup. Lamptey equalized – temporarily – for Brighton last weekend with a second-half goal, had to get substituted later as he faced some problem, but it didn’t look serious, and should start. Maupay is back, after missing the game against Tottenham. According to reports, Potter didn’t like his… attitude, and wanted to send him a message to… behave himself.

Burnley hosted Chelsea last weekend, and lost 0-3, without really worrying the Blues. Down 0-1 early, 0-2 in the 63rd minute and 0-3 soon after that, it felt like Burnley didn’t really-really believe they could earn something out of that match. Their current form reads; LLDLL. They are on just one point from six matches in the Premier League (they have one in hand), sitting at the bottom of the table. They have 1D and 5L, no win yet, and 3-12 goals. Obviously, no team has scored less than them thus far. Coach Sean Dyche is expected to have Pope, Lowton, Long, Tarkowski, Taylor, McNeil, Westwood, Brownhill, Brady, Wood, Rodriguez (4-4-2) in the starting lineup. Burnley are desperate to score, they haven’t sent the ball in since that 3-1 defeat to Newcastle four matches ago.

Last season’s Brighton vs Burnley was a 1-1 draw. In the reverse fixture, Brighton won 1-2 as guests.

Brighton look favourites to win this one, but a draw would not really be a surprise.

A 0-0 draw is predicted at full-time.
