Bologna vs Parma – Serie A Match Preview, Kick-Off Time & Match Prediction

Match Day 2 continues with Bologna taking on Parma on Monday the 28th of September, 2020, at Stadio Renato Dall'Ara.

Bologna visited AC Milan on their Serie A debut a week ago, and they were… unlucky to find the Rossoneri on a very good day. Zlatan Ibrahimović opened the scoring in the first half, converted a penalty early in the second one, and at that point the game was pretty much over. Bologna did have their moments offensively, but the quality gap between the two teams was clear on the pitch, Bologna did not really deserve a point. Adding insult to injury, they finished the game a man down, as Dutch left-back Mitchell Dijks saw a second yellow card in the 88th minute. Their current form reads; LDWDL. Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic told reporters after last week’s defeat in Milan that the way he saw things, the game was relatively “balanced”(!), and Bologna lost mostly because the players didn’t “believe” enough in a positive result, they sort of… “respected” Milan too much.

Just like Bologna, Parma lost on their debut, but at home, to Napoli, 0-2. They should have done better in the first half, when their guests looked… out of tune. Napoli improved a lot in the second half, scored in the 63rd minute, scored again in the 77th, and Parma just lacked answers. Their current form reads; LWWLW. Coach Fabio Liverani talked to the club’s TV channel the other day, and did not hesitate to say publicly that the roster is not deep enough. He was adamant that Parma need to sign players, preferably guys who have already proved they can deliver at this level, not just youngsters with big potential.

The last three games between these two have had no less than 13(!) goals. Two seasons ago, Bologna won 4-1 at home. As for last season, they drew 2-2 in Bologna, and repeated the same result in Parma.

Tough to pick a clear favourite… It’s really one of those games in which absolutely anything could happen. No matter what, we should see goals, despite the fact that none of the two scored last weekend.

A 1-1 draw is predicted at full-time.
