Getafe vs Betis – La Liga Match Preview, Kick-Off Time & Match Prediction

Match Day 4 continues with Getafe taking on Betis on Tuesday the 29th of September, 2020, at Coliseum Alfonso Pérez.

After beating Osasuna 1-0 at home on their debut, Getafe visited Deportivo Alavés on Saturday, aiming at making it two out of two. They did have their chances to score, take the lead, but all in all, it was a rather balanced (and boring) game, which ended goalless. Their current form reads; DWWWL. They are now of four points, having kept a clean sheet in both their first two matches of the season. Coach Pepe Bordalás told reporters after the game that he was satisfied with his players, despite the lack of many scoring chances. He pointed out that this is still the start of the season, and it will take some time for Getafe to reach the performance levels they want.

Betis played their part in producing a very entertaining match on Saturday, when they hosted Real Madrid. They went 0-1 down early, managed to make it 2-1 before the end of the first half(!), scored an own-goal to… equalize on Real Madrid’s behalf, were left with 10 men, and finally lost 2-3, conceding again from the penalty spot. Their current form reads; LWWWW. They are now on six points from three matches. Coach Manuel Pellegrini said after Saturday’s game that “playing against Real Madrid AND the VAR was just too much”. You can’t argue with the VAR though, Emerson was rightly sent-off in the 67th minute, and Bartra did commit a penalty that led to Real Madrid’s late winner. Aissa Mandi and William Carvalho both scored in a matter of two minutes in the first half.

Last season’s Getafe vs Betis was a 1-0 win for the hosts. The reverse fixture in Seville ended in a 1-1 draw.

Getafe are yet to concede in La Liga, and Betis had not conceded in two matches, before hosting Real Madrid last weekend. In other words, expecting more than one, maximum two goals in this game, does not look particularly realistic (then again, you never know).

A 1-1 draw is predicted at full-time.
