They head into this tie with 3-1 advantage over their counterparts and only two defeats in their last six games in the all competitions; WDWLWL. Their last match was a 4-2 defeat to Bundesliga Champions, Bayern Munich. Leverkusen crashed out of the UEFA Champions League before the lock-down after losing 5-2 to FC Porto and are on the hunt for their 2nd title win in this tournament. The last time they lifted this title was in 1987/88.  Coach, Peter Bosz believes his side can go all the way to lift this title once again. A 4-3-2-1 formation is expected from the gaffer with Kevin Volland leading the attack. The 28-year-old scored 10 goals in the German league but is yet score a goal in this tournament. He will be looking to break the duck when his side takes on Rangers at home.

Meanwhile, Rangers – who were runners up in the Scottish Premier league come off the back of five straight victories; WWWWW. Their last game was a 1-0 win against Aberdeen but they will be playing with a disadvantage on Thursday as they try to reduce a two-goal deficit from the 1st leg of this tie. They have made 9 appearances in this year’s tournament and have 13 goals in total. Rangers qualified for this round of 16 after finishing as runners-up in Group G. Last season they crashed out of the tournament at group stage after finishing 3rd. They are on the hunt for their second Europa League Cup win now under the guide of Steven Gerrard. Gerard is expected to play a 4-3-3 formation with the trio of Hagi, Morelos and Kent leading the attack. His side’s best record in this tournament was in 2007/2008 when they lifted the Europa League Cup.
